Two years in sight

March 7, 2026 Daniel Nowak

Hello!

With Murphy hitting a huge milestone in the coming days, I wanted to send through a short update, along with a few things we would love you to pray for.

But before we dive into tests and appointments, can I pause and share some fun pictures of the snow! This was during Charlotte’s once-in-20-year snow dump a few weeks back. After a mild Christmas, the temperature suddenly dropped and we had ice come down, followed by almost a foot of snow the week after!

Now for the update.

Our hope is that within a few days I’ll be able to send an update saying two years cancer-free! This will also mark the official end of the DFMO clinical trial Murphy has been part of.

Between now and then, Murphy has a few appointments coming up this week:

Monday (March 9):
• PET scan
• Lung function test
• Hearing test

Would you please pray that the PET scan is clear, and that his lungs and hearing remain unchanged? Thank you so much.

Just last week I was talking with someone about the beautiful community our family has experienced over these past four years, and how much we’ve been able to lean on your care, prayers, and support. We are deeply grateful.

This week I was reminded of the generational blessing in Numbers 6, given by God to Moses to share with Aaron and his sons:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

This is my prayer over you.
